Pre-Lay EOD Support
During the Nord Stream 2 project, Aukssupport provided senior EOD leadership through my role as EOD Superintendent / EOD Manager, overseeing the full pre-lay explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) scope. In preparation for offshore execution, I conducted the technical pre-engineering, participated in stakeholder and authority meetings, and ensured that operational plans, risk assessments, and disposal strategies were aligned with national and project-specific requirements. I coordinated the procurement of explosives in Germany, ensuring compliance with legal, logistical, and safety obligations, and managed the safe handling, transport, and use of all energetic materials throughout the operation. Working closely with the N-Sea and BODAC offshore teams, I supervised the investigation, identification, and executed the disposal of historic UXO, integrating ROV operations, environmental mitigation, and controlled detonation procedures. The EOD scope was executed successfully and safely due to the combined competence of the entire team, with clear project integration and disciplined technical oversight from planning to final sign-off.
